2007 Sugar Bowl MVP

brohmJaMarcus Russell (born August 9, 1985) is an all-conference quarterback for the LSU Tigers. His 6'5½", 265 lb. frame has brought him comparisons to the NFL's Daunte Culpepper.

2007 NFL Draft On January 10, 2007, Russell stated that he had decided to skip his final season of NCAA eligibility and enter the 2007 NFL Draft,[2] where he is expected to be a first round pick, and possibly compete with Brady Quinn, Calvin Johnson, and others for the No. 1 overall selection. USC coach Pete Carroll considers Russell to be the player his former offensive coordinator and current Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin should select. The Raiders hold the first pick in the 2007 NFL Draft and they could possibly pick him. Soon after announcing his decision to enter the Draft, Russell began working out with former College of San Mateo coach Tom Martinez, who has also worked with Tom Brady.[3] At the 2007 NFL combine, February 21st through February 27th, JaMarcus was the heaviest quaterback that got invited.
