Would Favre be enough to win the NFC final? By HHA

Without a doubt, Bret Favre is a really tough player. Even at his 40 years he continues to amaze and get victories for his team. He comes back after a second retirement but plays solid, like a star player, like the best Quarterbacks this season. He has a extremely impressive career behind him: 3 MVP, 1 Superbowl ring and a record for most consecutive start ups that will be really hard to be broken in the near future. But can this Iron Player take the Vikings to the Superbowl?

Is been a while since Favre took his unique Superbowl ring. With the Packers, the period between appearances in a conference final was from 1997 to 2008, and in both cases his team lost. He probably has already had a good talk with his teammates about the tough game that lies ahead. He knows that this game and the Superbowl night are pretty hard, but this could be the last run for him to the Finals; to achieve the ring and the glory. This is a really good motivator for him, if he can make his teammates help him by playing the best they can.

Favre just played one of his best games not only of the season but in his career: 4 touchdown passes to crush the Dallas cowboys. He is in a really good streak in hopes it will continue all the way to the Superbowl.

On the other side, the Saints have another spectacular Quarterback, Drew Brees, and a supportive offensive line. Brees and Co. have put the rank of the Saints to Championship Level, and coming from a franchise in the minority, who has never reached the Superbowl, the hunger for this victory is huge. Brees is already moving into the group of elite Quarterbacks of the league, having the record this season in completion percentage, and is the second quarterback to throw 4000 yards in 4 consecutive seasons, just behind Peyton Manning.

If you take the defense of the Saint, that tends to leave gaps sometimes, with the strong defensive line of the Vikings, and then you add the aggressive offensive line of the Saints and the lack of security of the Vikings due to their shaky play, you will have 2 teams that can do a lot of harm to each other, and we hope for a really good match.

This game's highlights are the 2 star quarterbacks that are as good as it gets in their respective conferences; all the pressure falls on them. This match could be the toughest for both teams counting the entire season. Both teams have played a solid season full victories, and both share a small bad streak last December, but it's not surprising that these are the top teams in the NFC division (Saints 14-3 Vikings 13-4).
