No signing can be official 'till July 8th, but all the negotiations are taking place right now and since Lebron is the essential element of this generation of free agents, it is more than probable that his decision will trigger a domino effect on the rest of the free agents and teams throwing offers at them. This free agency is full with stardom players that can change the course of any team.
Lebron has already met with the Nets and the Knicks, and on Friday, July 2nd he will meet with the Clippers and Heat. Then on Sunday he will give a chance to the Bulls and to the Cavaliers on Sunday. Rumors say that he may make a decision by next Monday. Another top free agent is Dwyane Wade that in his first days of free agency visited the Bulls before he met with the Miami Heat staff.
Chris Bosh is one of the players that has an uncertain future about his current team the Raptors, and he has already been negotiating with the Bulls and the Houston Rockets. On the other hand Joe Johnson is more than likely to return to the Atlanta Hawks for the next season with a six-year contract (119 million).
Just a few days ago Paul Pierce opted out of the final year of his contract and he has renegotiated it to give Boston a better financial position for the next year. He just resigned to $21.5 million for his final contract year, and the negotiation keeps Pierce at Boston for the next 4 years. Not only will Kobe return to the Golden team of L.A. but Phil Jackson also agreed to another season with the current champions, so they will both give it a shot to get to the top once again.
There are a lot of excellent players in this year's free agency like Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming, Amare Stoudemire, etc, but it's a fact that the 3 top ones who will surely determine the movement of the rest of the agents will be Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. We just have to sit and wait.
