Celtics and Lakers reach game 7 by HHA

The NBA Finals are on the verge of an epic battle in the final game between the L.A. Lakers and the Boston Celtics, the oldest and most fierce of all rivalries. This Finals series have the common factor that every game has been very different from each other, and both teams known their opponent really well. If you look into the past at the rivalry between L.A. and Boston, the only fitting end to the finals was to reach the 7th game. Prepare for a real battle!

The Boston Celtics have shown that the L.A. Lakers are not as powerful or unbeatable as most believe them to be, or in any case stronger than the Lakers from 2008. They also had the most improbable chance to the title this year despite all the seasons and injuries their veterans had on their shoulders, plus being the 4th seeded team in the East meant they had to beat Cleveland and Orlando to get to the finals (1st and 2nd seeds).

For the Lakers, the ride to the finals was somewhat easy; just a few bumps against Oklahoma and Phoenix crooked their path on their way to the finals. But Kobe is playing outstandingly as usual, even with several injuries, and Bynum is pushing through his injury like a soldier at the front lines and is reluctant to get any kind of procedure to correct the injury until after they win the championship. So we can say this is a battle of skill and will right now in this particular series. It is very hard to win 2 games in a row, and having home court advantage means nothing now.

The situation is very difficult for both teams now. Kendrick Perkins and Andrew Bynum left the last game early due to their injuries. Bynum only played the first minute of the second half and then left to have his right knee checked, while Perkins left the game with a sprained right just 5 minutes and a half of the tip off. So Gasol had to come up and fill the gap for the Lakers, while on the other yard Wallace and Davis had to improve their performance (0-10 in game 6) to cover for Perkins.

Kobe is now trying to play cool, saying he knows what is at stake but that he is not going to go wild, but we know he is thinking about his 5th ring, and when the tip off begins we will all surely go crazy. For the Celtics, it's one more ring for the Big Three and they already know that their time to get another title is almost over. We can expect a very physical game, more drama, and lot of that renewed rivalry from old times.
